FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Winnipeg September 19, 2016:  Please join the Reflexology Association of Canada (RAC) in celebrating World Reflexology Week 2016.

This year’s RAC theme is Reflexology: A Healing Art to Discover. From September 19 – 23, 2016 reflexology therapists across Canada will be holding events to share the healing benefits of reflexology with the public and to provide information on how to locate a qualified practitioner in each province.

“This week is really for the public,” said Marakary Bayo, Executive Director of RAC. “Reflexology can help relieve tension, improve circulation, and it is beneficial in activating the body’s own healing mechanism.”

“Clients often tell me they benefit greatly from their reflexology sessions and they note the positive impact that reflexology has on their health overall” said Carol Faguy, a certified therapist and teacher with RAC. “This week we want to extend those benefits to people who don’t usually get to experience reflexology.”

World Reflexology Week is celebrated around the globe during the last full week in September and has been endorsed by legislators including North Dakota’s Governor Jack Dalrymple, Washington Governor Christine Gregoire, and former Hawaiian Governor Ben Cayetano.

“This week is the perfect time to share reflexology with a broader group, beyond our regular clientele,” said Larry Patzer, a reflexology therapist and president of the RAC Manitoba Chapter.

RAC, with its head office in Winnipeg, is the largest national professional association of reflexology therapists in Canada and one of the oldest reflexology associations in the world. Established in 1976, RAC has members and chapters across Canada and around the world.
